Reviews
We stayed here with a tent and arrived on foot from the ferry. It was about a half-hour walk along the sea, which was absolutely stunning. We stayed for three nights and found the restroom facilities consistently clean. The highlight was the variety of food trucks that served delicious meals from different nationalities starting from noon. But I heard, that they only open in the summer months.
The staff was incredibly friendly and always helpful. We had the opportunity to rent bicycles to explore the island. The campground also boasts a fantastic playground for children. Our experience here was fantastic!
We really enjoyed our stay! We booked the small cabin, but the staff upgraded us for free to the bigger one, which was the perfect fit for four people. Great view of the sea, alright kitchen and a nice outdoor shower. It’s 20-30 mins by foot to the city, but the path is nice and the walk is pleasant. Recommended!
I'm not sure about this place, feels kinda like a ripoff if you compare it with the rest of Gotland or Fårö.
Sure it's close to the beautiful city of Visby but that's all.
The camping space is super dense and you ve not much personal space.
At the moment the main street is redirected next to the campsite so you will hear the traffic.
Toilets and showers are okay but also twice as expensive as on other places.
All of that for 39€ doesn't match for my taste.
Good quality camping. Has a lot to offer, food trucks, restaurant and glamping tents.
First time we stayed as cottage guests as we came very late and needed to just go straight to beed. They then had great service that made it possible after calling them to check in and get the keys outside working hours, that was actually great and they had good service houses.
Next time we came as tenting guests, and must say it was horrible and had to demand money back and go further down to another camping that is really great.
This is one of these camping sites where tenters get the trash areas where it wasn't possible to put camping vans, they are one of the most expensive in Sweden and it wasn't possible to even put in a 4-person tent as there wasn't much place that didn't slope or had good ground and they charge per tent not size so there wasn't possible to squeeze it in between all the 12person tents (something they should have checked before charging new guests without giving the chance to see first).
In short, there are great camping sites down the road not far if you camp by car or bicycle.
Nice and very big campground, 20 min by feet away from Visby town. Access to beach and pier. Only minus: I booked a couple of month ago a tent site with electricity. I have not found on the website (English), that I cannot park the car directly at or nearby these pricy tent areas. I was told, that these tent areas are for cyclist, which I did not know. The receptionist told us that we could park somewhere outsite at the public car park, which was ridicolous as tje medieval week took place and nowhere was an available parking lot. Fortunately, the camping neighbours with their camping allowed us to park our car on their camping area.
The most expensive camping on the entirety of Gotland, yet they lack common commodities such as soap and hand sanitizer in the middle of a pandemic. There are about 15-20 bathrooms and showers total for several hundreds of guests and some service houses do not even have proper doors for the showers. We also had to pay an extra fee on top of booking their largest camping spot in order to set up an extra tent. So far I have seen one kitchen that can hold up to a maximum of two people if you squeeze in beside eachother, again, for hundreds of guests.
The few positives about the camping would be its location and that you get 10 minutes of showering for free (4 SEK per minute otherwise) and also that you got free electricity as long as you have an adapter that fits.
It can easily get crowded, but it's very close to the city, and there are a at least a few trees to shield the tent from the sunshine. The showers are fairly unique, though I wonder how their arrangement (booths that are open from the top) works on the colder days. There is an annoying card system to use the showers and toilets, but at least you can leave as early as you want (just drop the card in a special box they have at the reception).
